I am super slammed on many fronts right now and didn't get to it today. Leave your impressions of it below.
As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable crowd,
Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus,
sat by the roadside begging.
On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth,
he began to cry out and say,
“Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.”
And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent.
But he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me.”
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called the blind man, saying to him,
“Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you.”
He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.”
Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.”
Immediately he received his sight
and followed him on the way. Mk 10:46-52
Hello all! New to this community. Had a couple quick questions and looking for some advice.
I saw on @KeithNester’s youtube video description that becoming an annual supporter scored you a free pocket rosary from the Catholic Woodworker. Anyone know how to go about getting that?
Also, a request for some advice. My wife and I are in the process of converting to the Catholic church. This was led by me, who is the one who had the spiritual draw towards it, mostly starting with listening to Keith on Pints with Aquinas, and that started quite the journey. We are working with my local priest and planning on coming into the Church this fall.
We both grew up in the south, and Catholicism is a huge minority. We now live in Nebraska. All that leads to us not having many Catholic friends, and especially my wife feels extremely lonely during this process. She has one very good Catholic friend and neighbor, but she is a cradle Catholic and just can't relate to some of the aspects of the journey. ...
